We're Famous....

Ok, so maybe not really famous, but we did make The Secret Bed and Breakfast blog!!!
Jon and I went to The Secret for a little getaway at the first of the year.  The views were beautiful! We stayed in the Tree House which was just perfect for us!
The Innkeepers, Mrs. Diann and Mr. Carl were fabulous!

(This image was taken from their website!)
We loved every minute of it!  Thanks for such an awesome trip and experience guys! We CANNOT wait to come visit again!
If you want a great B&B experience then go visit The Secret!
By the way, we are going to be sending some friends that way soon, and I am still planning the girls weekend to enjoy the rooftop pool!  BIG HUGS!

Five Question Friday

1. Where did you meet your spouse and did you instantly know it was love? Long story....but yes I do believe within a couple weeks I know that it was love and within the 1st month and half we knew we were getting married! I know that God created Jon just for me. We fit together so well. He is strong when I am weak. God has changed us so much since we got married, but the more he changes us the better we compliment each other! I knew in the beginning that we were in for an amazing love, a blessed life, and lots of laughter when I met my prince charming! Thank you Jesus for such a wonderful husband! I love him and I am so blessed! After 4 years he can still make my knees weak and take my breath away!

2. What is your favorite room in your house? My living room! I love the colors. It is all very neutral with accents of sage green. It also has the pictures of my family and friends so it is nice a homey! Jon and I love to hang out there, and when friends are over it is the place where all the fun happens! It is the center of the Whitten house...
3. Can you wiggle your ears? No....sad I know, but No I can not wiggle my ears!

4. What is your evening ritual? Evening Ritual? I can honestly say that I really do not have one. Every night is different...my husband are rarely home in the evenings so the ritual would depend on the day! I am the kind of girl that before my head hits the pillow I am out! Boring I know, but that my life!

5. How many hours of sleep do you need to function? 6-7. I always aim for 8 hours, but I never make it, but I know if I aim for eight then I will usually end up with 6-7 which I can easy function on. More than eight and I have a hard time getting going for the day....less than 6 hours and by 5 in the afternoon I am DONE!

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!

What I am loving Wednesday....

Here is what I'm loving on this fabulous Wednesday...

I am loving all of my Sharpie Pens. They write so well, they never bleed through the paper, and oddly enough they make me really happy! I love when I find a good pen, and now that I have found those I am sort of a pen snob (so my husband says)!

I am loving my Jesus Culture album Your Love Never Fails!

I am loving all the head bands, broaches, and scarfs that I got for Christmas! Just a little pop of color and some fun accessories go a looooooooooooog way in making my day so much better!

I am loving my best friends...Cindy, Angelia, and Tiffany! What would life be like with out beautiful, fabulous, awesome friends? I mean what would a girl do without her besties there to support her? They are awesome, and I love them so!

Me and Tiffany

I am loving the way I can so tangibly feel God's loving arms around me as he directs and guides me. That feeling is incomparable! It is the best feeling ever to wake up feeling the love of God all over you! He is awesome, and he never ceases to amaze me!

Of course, I am loving Jonathan! He is an awesome husband who loves me now matter what!

Monday...Monday...Jesus Culture

Don't you just love Mondays? It actually wasn't that bad today! After work I went to church for prayer, and then followed it up with an hour and 10 minute walk with my bestie, Angelia! It felt great to workout, but it felt even better to talk with my friend before she starts her 7 day shift at work! [Insert sad face here!]

So I just want to tell you guys about the new CD that I got from ITunes. We are having the Sacred Assembly at our church so I wanted to get some really good praise and worship music. So last night I purchased Your Love Never Fails from Jesus Culture! IT... IS... AWESOME!!!! I always try to have prayer time on my way to work in the morning since my commute is about 35+ minutes. It was amazing....my favorite song is "Your Love Never Fails"...the song says that Jesus works all things together for my good! My friend I believe every bit of that song. Last year Jon and I faced some decisions, and this year we are seeing some of the benefits that were produced by making some hard decisions. Jesus has been so faithful to work all things together for our good! Thank goodness he has not given us everything that we thought we needed or wanted right when we wanted. He is faithful and loves us so much that he has to wait sometimes because he has something better!
Below is the video...enjoy and I pray that as you watch the video that you know that Jesus is working all things together for YOUR good!
Be blessed! BIG HUGS!

Five Question Friday

TGIF...here are my answers for  FIVE QUESTION FRIDAY!

1. What movie could you watch over and over again and not get tired of?
I will admit that it is sometimes hard for me to sit down and watch a movie. I am a tab bit A.D.D and I love to talk so that kind of makes me a bad person to watch movies with. However, I have 3 movies that I could watch over and over. 1st: Sister Act 2. I love this movie. It really works great for me when I can watch it alone because that way I can secretly sing and dance in my living room with the movie! Yes my friends...Sister Act 2 is an interactive movie for me! 2nd: Dirty Dancing. I love everything this movie offers...the music, the dancing, the romance, and Patrick Swayze. I always feel so good by the end of the movie! 3rd: Pride and Prejudice. This is one of the only movies that I can watch over and over again and dare someone else to talk through! I love the story. I simply takes me away and I become fully engaged! LOVE IT!

2. What's your biggest pet peeve right now?
Ooohhh...that is a tough one! Right now I would have to say that my biggest pet peeve is that fact that some people think since Jon and I do not have children that we are not considered a "real family" and since we do not have children then we must not have anything going on in our lives...! This bothers me to my inter most core. Jon and I are a REAL family and our fur baby, Sarah Bear, makes us a family of 3! I know that children are different from dogs and that once you have children that your family of 2 becomes 3, but please do not act like just because it is just Jon and I  that we do not make up a family! Also, just because we do not have children does not mean that we do not have anything going on...we both work full time jobs and are both actively involved in several extracurricular activities!

3. If you had to describe your best friend in five words or less, what would you say?
Well, I have 2 best friend!
Tiffany (best friends since 1st grade): giving, beautiful, talented, fashionista, and faithful.
Angelia: fun, encourager, genuine, godly, and sweet.
There are so many more things that describe them...so many stories! Five words do not do them justice in describing their greatness!!! Love you girls!

4. If you did not have to worry about money or go to school what would you do for a living?
If I did not have to worry about money or go to school then I would love to be an arts and crafts teacher in the community! I would have a small studio somewhere centrally located in our neighborhood. I would offer these classes for free and it would be open to all children! We would do crafts with glitter, paint, lots of glue...we would plant flower pots and grow flowers! We would bring light and life to the world with all of our colorful creations! I would be able to offer them a snack (some children do not get much to eat at home...this I have learned from some of our children at Church), and I would wrap up our session letting them know just how wonderful and special they are! I would give lots and lots of hugs and let them know that Jesus and Mrs. Lisa love them very much...this would be my outlet...this is my passion! God has opened my heart to love children from all ages and backgrounds. My heart desires to love them and show them the love of Jesus...I have found that arts and crafts is a great avenue to bring the children in and they LOVE IT! It shows them how to be creative and it allows for opportunities to encouraged them to grow! I so hope that one day this will be more than a dream!

5. What is your one "splurge" item, that you will always buy, no matter the cost?
Diet Mt. Dew! I drink lots and lots of water, but I do not think that I can function with out that beverage! There is nothing quite as refreshing as opening up a ice cold Diet. Mt. Dew when I am extremely thirsty...just thinking about it I feel refreshed! No matter the cost I promise I will always...ALWAYS people...splurge on Diet Mt. Dew!

Hope you enjoyed! Happy FRIDAY!

Here is what I'm loving on this wintry Wednesday...

I am loving my new winter headband that keeps my ears nice and toasty in all the winter weather that we have been having.

I am loving the camcorder that Jon's mom got us for Christmas. We made a home video about the Bilizzard of 2011! Oh...what a fabulous memory catcher it is!

I am loving our Kinect and my dance game "Dance Central"! It is so much fun and a pretty good workout!

I am loving the way I feel after losing 70 pounds...

I am loving my awesome husband, Jonathan! I am so thankful that God created such a wonderful man for me! He is the peas to my carrots!

Five Question Friday

1. What is your current favorite book, and why?
My current favorite book is The Love Dare. I am reading this book in preparation to do the 40 day challenge with our Young Married Sunday school class! I believe that my husband and I have a god centered marriage, and that we for the most part are good. However, I believe God is in the business of making good marriages great, great marriages awesome, and awesome marriages out of the world! So I am opening my heart as Jon and I are both reading this book saying, "God help me to be an awesome wife with an out of this world marriage!".

2. Do you go to the dentist regularly?
Yes. I go twice a year for cleaning and then if there is ever a problem. Side note: I am so very afraid of the dentist...I always go with IPOD in hand and lots of prayers said! However, I know it is so important so I put my big girl panties on and deal!

3. What is your worst memory from High School?
The worst memory of Sr. High was losing my paw paw. I remember that December 7th-11th like it was yesterday. My high school had won the 2A State Championship that Friday Dec.7th! The 8th was spent at the hospital watching as my grandfather struggled to breath and such...spent the day out there just talking to my family and having a few tender moments with him. The 9th I went back to the hospital and he was growing worse.  I remember sitting there looking at him knowing he was in pain, but knowing just how much I was going to miss him. Monday the 10th I had school...I do not remember much about that. I know that Monday night I studied for a trig/pre-cal test with some friends. Tuesday morning my daddy woke me up because my momma was on the phone. My paw paw had passed away that night. My heart just broke....there is still part of my heart that is misses him so much! I CANNOT wait to see him...

4. What do you hope to be remembered for in your life?
This is hard...really what do I want to be remembered for? I want Jon to remember for being an awesome wife...his closest friend, the one who held his heart, and the one that will forever be his "beloved"! With my momma I want to be remembered a her precious daughter...her friend! God has healed the relationship that I had with her and now we are super close. I want her to remember the good times, my laughter, and "the moments" that changed us for the better! My daddy...I simply want to be remembered as his baby girl...the one that loved him so much it hurts and how proud that I hope I make him!
I hope I am remembered as a great friend who was always there, a listening ear, an encourager, and for the joyful, easily excited spirit that the Lord has blessed me with. I want to be remember as woman that gave it all for God, who was not perfect by far, but who loved hard, gave much, laughed often....

5. Are you superstitious or do you have any superstitions?
I wouldn't consider myself to be superstitious per say. However, when a black cat darts in front of my car it takes everything I have not to turn around and head for the hills. I also think that to have good luck in the new year you should eat black eyed peas...but do I fret if I did not have black eyed peas of New Years...no!!!  I have broken a few mirror and opened umbrellas indoors and nothing....God takes care of me and works ALL things together for my GOOD!
